Never the poles shall meet – some people are cat lovers and some are cat haters.
Many environmentalists and conservationists don’t love cats because of the damage they do to native wildlife and habitats.
I am a citizen-enviro-conservation advocate, and, I LOVE my cat.
I never used to be a cat person. I found them to be either murderous destroyers or insular insults to domestic pets.
My how the worm turned!
A rescue cat bought for daughter number three, when daughter left home, cat stayed because cat and I were deeply attached.
I love her.
She is an inside-at-night-time cat and the sole reason of my worry about getting home on time in the evenings. I worry about a big snake getting her. She owns the house and is the boss of the dogs . One evil stare from her and they run away, tail between legs.
Today, my beautiful Inkie is in hospital.
I found it on her neck after she was choking on her food. Her back legs were beginning to go and her meow sounded rather hoarse. Paralysis tick.
If Inkie dies, I will not replace her, but I did want to tell all you cat lovers out there that I completely understand why you love your cat. It is possible to love the environment and cats. It is possible to be into conservation and have a domestic cat.
Feral cats are a problem, yes. My Inkie, although capable of being a murderous destroyer, is a pampered and much loved member of our environmentally friendly household and I really hope she pulls through the tick toxin.
Poor little Inkie cat.
